Te Papa, the national museum, is the home of some of New Zealand's most significant taonga (treasures). Opened in 1998, after more than 5 years of development, Te Papa is a fun place to take the family and will entertain kids of all ages. It is also an institution which educates and is involved in some of the most significant international research currently being undertaken. Te Papa is open every day of the year including Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day! 10am to 6pm and Thursdays 10am to 9pm. ADMISSION IS FREE!
